Thyroid Tests	

	Various tests may be employed when investigating thyroid disease. The tests fall into three main groups:
• Measurement of the levels of thyroid hormones (either directly or indirectly).
• Assessment of thyroid function (by radioiodine uptake).
• Assessment of the thyroid-pituitary axis.
